New survey techniques have made capturing a highway and its assets much faster and safer than traditional methods. Vehicle Based Mobile Scanning Platforms allow surveyors to capture highly accurate data while travelling at normal road speed.
Adopted by ABA Surveying in 2009, our Mobile Mapping System combines a high-end INS system with Fibre Optic Gyro, a Javad GNSS System and three laser scanners capable of capturing 1.5 million points per second, with proven accuracy of sub 10mm.
We have now carried out more than 5000km of survey grade highway scanning, including an As-Built survey of the M1 Smart Motorway from Junction 28 to Junction 32 of the M18.
