ABA was formed in 1990 when civil engineering work on the Channel Tunnel was nearing completion. ABA surveyed the tunnel segments and wrote software to combine as-built survey data with the OLE design data, establishing the company's reputation.

This innovative approach, achieved with only a basic total station and early computing equipment, set the philosophy for the future of ABA. Our ability to think outside the box has since benefited major projects including HS1, Thameslink, Crossrail, and the Blackfriars and London Bridge station remodelling.

With heavy investment in 3D scan technology since 2000, now with five HDS scanners, we scan everything we survey and extract the data our clients need. All our work is BIM Level 2 compliant, and we are active on the committees of Survey4BIM and BIM4rail.
